Vietnamese families are making headlines with their impressive vacation stories, and one such story involves a large family of over 60 members who recently traveled to Quảng Trị for a three-day, three-night trip on a modest budget of only 200 million VND.

According to Ms. Minh Hương, a family representative, the entire trip was conceived, organized, and funded by the younger generation. From the outset, all family members came together to discuss and assign specific tasks: from renting vehicles and booking restaurants to designing matching outfits, printing background banners for photos, preparing snacks, and even arranging an MC to host games throughout the journey.

During their three-day adventure in Quảng Trị, the large family visited a plethora of notable sites, including the tomb of General Võ Nguyên Giáp, Paradise Cave, Đá Nhảy beach, Nhật Lệ beach, and the Mother Suốt statue. Beyond sightseeing, this trip also served as an opportunity to commemorate the heroic traditions of the nation and connect with sacred historical values.

The family of 60 proudly chanted the slogan, “Family is strength” during their trip to Quảng Trị.

Following a similar trend, a family of 50, led by Ms. Thùy Dương from Hanoi, embarked on a trip to Tam Đảo. Their itinerary included games, singing, dining, and academic awards. “Every year, the extended family gathers for two major events: summer vacation and year-end parties. This tradition has been maintained for the past five years. In previous years, the family visited Sầm Sơn, Hạ Long, and Hòa Bình. We alternate between the beach and the mountains,” Ms. Dương shared with Dân Trí.

At the end of June, Mr. Đỗ Hoàng Nam’s family from Hanoi packed 5 kg of rice, 30 loaves of bread, 2 kg of shrimp, and 2 boxes of instant noodles for a self-catering trip to Quảng Ninh (old Ha Long) that lasted three days and two nights. Mr. Nam mentioned that his in-laws owned a convenience store, which made it convenient to bring along snacks. His family of 14 stayed in a villa during their trip, enjoying the resort’s amenities and cooking their meals.

Occasionally, family members would take a taxi to the market to buy seafood to add to their menu. The total cost of the trip was 35 million VND, excluding the snacks they brought from home.

Unlike the families of Ms. Minh Hương, Ms. Thùy Dương, and Mr. Hoàng Nam, Ms. Nhật Lệ’s family from Thái Nguyên opted for a motorcycle trip to Móng Cái, Quảng Ninh. According to Ms. Lệ, the group consisted of eight members from three generations, with the youngest being nine years old and the oldest almost 70. Having prior “phượt” (adventure travel) experience, her family did not encounter significant challenges during the journey.

They made one stop for lunch and arrived at Trà Cổ beach after a ten-hour ride. Beyond sightseeing, they also indulged in local specialties and bought souvenirs for their loved ones. Ms. Lệ shared with VietNamNet that despite the nearly 500-kilometer distance, they did not feel tired and instead enjoyed the trip immensely. “This trip was a spontaneous decision without any prior planning, and it turned out better than expected,” she expressed.

It’s not just families who are taking advantage of the summer break; many companies are also seizing this opportunity to reward their employees with vacations after a year of hard work. In recent years, there has been a growing trend of companies organizing overseas trips for their staff instead of solely domestic travel. These international vacations serve as well-deserved rewards and provide employees with cultural experiences, broadened horizons, and enhanced team bonding. This strategy is also seen as an investment in human resources, boosting morale, retaining talent, and creating an attractive employer brand in the job market.

A notable example is the industrial paint company HTS, which recently concluded a five-day, four-night trip to Thailand. During this journey, employees explored renowned destinations in Pattaya and Bangkok, from vibrant beaches to historical sites steeped in Thai culture. They also savored the local cuisine and witnessed unique artistic performances. The trip fostered joy and relaxation while strengthening the team’s bond and creating lasting memories.

Many companies organize summer vacations to foster camaraderie among colleagues.

Joining the vacation trend, several Vietnamese celebrities, including Quyền Linh, Diệp Lâm Anh, and supermodel Thuý Hạnh, have shared stories of their “summer blocks” enjoying vacations both domestically and abroad.

Linh Nga and her daughter Luna joined Hà Kiều Anh’s family for a three-week summer camp in Beijing, China.

Supermodel Thuý Hằng and Thuý Hạnh explored famous European destinations during their extended vacation.

Diệp Lâm Anh and her family enjoyed a relaxing vacation in Đà Nẵng.

Đàm Thu Trang took her two children to explore Hong Kong Disneyland while Cường Đô La was busy with work.

Lý Hải and Minh Hà spent quality time with their four children in Phan Thiết.
