According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, as we move into October, cold air masses begin to intensify, frequently sweeping into our country. The northern region is expected to experience approximately 3–4 cold air incursions, primarily of mild to moderate intensity. Evenings and early mornings will bring a noticeable chill.
Meteorological agencies indicate that these early-season cold spells are not yet strong enough to cause severe cold, but they will shift the northern weather from hot and humid to cooler and more pleasant conditions.
During the day, temperatures in the northern plains will range between 28–31°C, occasionally reaching up to 33°C. At night and in the early morning, temperatures will drop to 21–24°C, with a cool breeze. In mountainous areas, temperatures may fall below 18°C when cold air intensifies.
Dr. Hoàng Đức Cường, Deputy Director of the Department of Hydro-Meteorology under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, stated on TTXVN that by October 2025, cold air masses are expected to increase in both intensity and frequency. Cold air activity is likely to strengthen in November and December 2025, with severe cold spells in the northern region potentially occurring from the latter half of December, consistent with long-term averages.
Weather forecasts indicate that while cold air masses will frequently move into the country in October, their intensity will remain moderate.

The Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam will continue to see scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Heavy rainfall in some areas may lead to localized flooding. Thunderstorms may also bring lightning and strong gusts.
