Regularly wear shoes inside the house
The simplest way to stretch shoes is to wear them regularly around the house. Although it may be slightly inconvenient, try wearing your shoes while you’re sitting at your computer, cooking, or simply lounging and watching TV. This method will help expand and increase the flexibility of your shoes. Give it a try and see for yourself; you’ll be surprised!
Water
Water may seem like an unusual solution, but it can help your shoes achieve the desired width. Simply fill two bags with water and seal them tightly. Place these water bags inside your shoes, adjusting them to the area you want to stretch (such as the toe or the width/length). Then, put the shoes in the freezer to let the water freeze and become ice. The frozen water will act as a mold, helping to loosen your shoes. After about a day, take the shoes out of the freezer and let the ice thaw for approximately 20 minutes. Remove the water bags, wipe them clean, and try on the shoes with socks to avoid discomfort. This method is not recommended for expensive shoes.
Specialized spray
Shoe stores, especially shoemakers, often use specialized sprays to quickly stretch tight shoes. You can combine this method with the first one for faster results. However, be cautious as some sprays may fade the color of the shoes. Make sure to read and follow the instructions provided. It is recommended to use sprays made of a mixture of half alcohol and half water to prevent damage to the shoes.
Hairdryer
After wearing thick socks and shoes, use a hairdryer to blow hot air around the shoes. Keep the hairdryer at a moderate distance to avoid damaging or burning the shoes. As the shoes heat up, move your toes and flex your feet to stretch the leather. Let them cool down and try them on without socks to see if they fit better. If not, repeat the steps mentioned above.
Potatoes
Carve 1-2 potatoes, depending on the size of the shoe area you want to stretch. If the toe area is tight, insert a properly sized piece of potato there. For both shoes, you may need a few more potatoes. Leave the shoes and potatoes overnight to allow them to stretch as desired. Alternatively, you can use wet paper or oats as substitutes.
