Boiled chicken is a familiar traditional dish of our Vietnamese people. This is an indispensable dish in family meals, especially during parties or Tet holidays. However, boiling chicken in cold water is too old and familiar to everyone. You should try the following method of boiling chicken without water to make the chicken meat much more flavorful.
How to choose a good pre-slaughtered chicken
First of all, to have a delicious boiled chicken, you should choose a chicken that has firm and not overweight meat. When you choose a pre-slaughtered chicken, look at the outside of the chicken. If the chicken meat is yellow, you should choose it. On the contrary, if the chicken skin is pale with purple spots or red lumps, you should avoid buying it.
Furthermore, you can also use your hand to check the quality of the chicken. If the chicken meat is firm and has good elasticity, it is a good chicken to choose. On the other hand, if the chicken meat is soft and lacks elasticity, you should not buy it.

Boiling chicken with ginger
– 1 chicken
– 1 ginger
– Half a cup of white wine (or vinegar, salt)
– Soup powder, cooking oil
– Ginger, scallions
Boiling chicken without water using an electric rice cooker
Step 1: Take half of the ginger, smash it, and finely chop the remaining ginger. Mix it with white wine and rub it on the chicken, marinate for 30 minutes to remove the fishy smell of the meat. If there is no wine, you can rub the chicken several times with a mixture of salt and vinegar in a ratio of 2:1, then rinse with clean water, rub soup powder on the chicken, and let it soak for about 2 hours to make the chicken more flavorful

Step 2: Add a little cooking oil to the bottom of the rice cooker, spread it out to cover the entire bottom. Place thin slices of ginger and scallions evenly on the bottom, arrange the chicken on top, cover it, and turn on the cook button. When the rice cooker switches to the keep warm mode, wait for 10 minutes, then flip the chicken and turn on the cook button again.
You can try to keep cooking the chicken until the rice cooker switches to the keep warm mode, then leave it for another 4-5 minutes. If you want to check if the chicken is cooked, you can skewer the chicken thigh, and if there is no more red juice coming out, it is done. Take the chicken out, let it cool completely before chopping it for serving
Now you have completed the delicious flavorful boiled chicken without water. Give it a try once, and from the next time, you won’t want to eat boiled chicken with water anymore.
