Bayer Fruit Expert Club member – Mr. Huynh Huu Loc believes that fruit growers in Vietnam need technical support from experts
Participating in the event, members of the Bayer Fruit Expert Club had the opportunity to visit Bayer’s plant protection factory in Bien Hoa. These activities are part of Bayer’s efforts to support Vietnamese farmers.
For the Vietnamese fruit brand
The General Director of Bayer Vietnam – Mr. Kohei Sakata (Japan) – believes that Vietnam has an advantage in growing fruit trees and Vietnamese fruits are delicious and preferred by consumers. Vietnam is joining regional and global organizations, many trade agreements have been signed, implying more opportunities for fruit exports. However, Vietnamese fruits also face many barriers. “The launch of the Bayer Fruit Expert Club aims to focus on supporting fruit growers to access scientific and technical advances, advanced cultivation solutions that help improve yield, plant quality, and thereby increase profitability,” said Mr. Kohei Sakata.

As a member of the Bayer Fruit Expert Club, Mr. Huynh Huu Loc (Loc Hung Cooperative, Thoi Hung Commune, Co Do District, Can Tho) said: “The normal mango yield is only 80% compared to Vietgap standard and the price of normal mango is lower than Vietgap mango by about 5,000 – 6,000 VND/kg and it is harder to sell. But Vietgap mangoes require techniques, planting according to the right method, so I often exchange with other farmers to learn. Joining the Bayer Fruit Expert Club, I feel like a fish in water. Besides learning from other farmers, the technical support from Bayer’s experts helps me confidently cultivate according to Vietgap standards and believe in the upcoming bumper crop.”

At the ceremony, Bayer Vietnam also introduced the “Much More Fruits” solution package to the Fruit Expert Club members, which has been successfully applied to rice and coffee plants. It is an appropriate agricultural solution to manage fruit diseases, control pests and diseases, and manage weeds, helping to meet increasingly deep, complex and demanding technical cultivation needs. The ultimate goal of the program is to increase income and improve the lives of fruit farmers, contributing to a better life for participants in agricultural cultivation in Vietnam.
Mr. Tran Van Hoanh (Tan Lam Commune, Di Linh District, Lam Dong) is one of 20 Bayer ambassadors of the Coffee Expert Club, serving as evidence of the benefits of the Much More package. He said that since joining the Coffee Expert Club, the profit has increased by about 15% – 30% per year compared to before joining. Mr. Hoanh analyzed: “When joining the coffee club, I receive technical support and planting methods from Bayer’s experts, so the coffee garden management is more strict from weed control to disease prevention. Thanks to that, the coffee is greener, less prone to diseases, the fruit is bigger and of higher quality, so the profit from the coffee garden is also higher than before”.

After the factory tour, a farmer in the group commented: “The factory is really impressive! But it’s true because Bayer, a German corporation with a history of hundreds of years of operation in many countries, everything they do is professional”.
Another farmer from Ben Tre added: “We used Bayer’s plant protection products before, but honestly, we didn’t know where their factory was or the quality of their products. Through the factory tour, witnessing the production process, industry, holding and examining the products, I deeply appreciate Bayer’s commitment to our farmers, as well as the scientific solutions that Bayer brings”.
