Preserve rice with garlic

First, you can put the rice in a plastic box or a large container with a lid.

After putting all the rice in, peel a few cloves of garlic and place them on top of the rice. Depending on the size of the rice container, you can adjust the amount of garlic. Once the garlic is added, seal the lid tightly.

Garlic has the effect of preventing moths and bacteria, so the rice you buy will be clean and safe for your health even if you store it for a long time.

Preserve rice with plastic bottle

For those who don’t like the smell of garlic, you can use a clean plastic bottle to store the rice. However, you should remember that the plastic bottle must be completely dry. If there is any water inside, the rice will become damp and moldy, which is even more harmful.

After filling the bottle with rice, turn the cap tightly and place the bottle in a dry place.

Using this type of plastic bottle, insects, dust, and moths cannot attack your rice, so it is both hygienic and safe for your health.

Preserve rice with salt

Sprinkle a little salt into the rice container. When eating rice, swallowing the salty salt will scare away the moths and they will leave. However, do not use too much salt as it can make the rice salty and moist.

Put rice in the refrigerator

This is a simple method that anyone can use to kill moth larvae in rice. Buy the rice, check it carefully, then put it in a tightly sealed bag and store it in the refrigerator for a week to kill the moth larvae, preventing them from turning into adults.

Note that this method can only be used with fresh rice, when the larvae have not yet turned into adult moths. If the rice already has weevils, you should eliminate them first and also store it in the refrigerator for a week to ensure that the rice is completely free of larvae.
