Tips to Improve Eyelash Growth Naturally
Eyelashes have a slow development cycle, taking up to 30-45 days to fully develop before reaching a maximum length of about 10mm and then falling off. While eyelash extensions and curlers can be effective, they also come with potential risks. To achieve perfect eyelashes without the need for chemicals or spending a lot of money at a salon, try applying some of the following tips.
Include beneficial foods
To have thick, healthy, beautiful hair and eyelashes, you can’t miss out on vitamins such as biotin and vitamin E, iron, zinc, and protein in your diet. Some beneficial foods for hair and eyelashes recommended by experts include salmon, eggs, beef, almonds, walnuts, sweet potatoes, oysters, and avocados, as they optimize your chances of having naturally gorgeous lashes without going to a salon.
Use coconut oil
Natural coconut oil is rich in vitamins A and C, two nutrients that help promote the growth of eyelashes and hair. Pure coconut oil also contains triglycerides, fatty substances that nourish your lashes, preventing them from becoming brittle and falling out. Before going to bed every night, dip a cotton swab into the coconut oil and brush your lashes gently, applying it evenly from the roots to the tips, as if you were applying mascara. Do this regularly on both upper and lower lashes.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E helps your lashes grow longer and fuller. Additionally, vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can reduce the effects of oxidation.
You can take advantage of vitamin E capsules that are commonly used as oral supplements. Simply extract the liquid from the capsule and apply it evenly to your lashes using a cotton swab, gently rubbing it from the inner to the outer corner. Do this daily for optimal results.
Green tea
The nutrients in green tea can stimulate hair follicles, helping your lashes grow longer and thicker over time. To nourish your lashes with green tea, soak green tea leaves in warm water and use a cotton swab to apply the water on your lashes after cleansing your face in the evening. This will stimulate the growth of new lashes.
Brush your lashes and massage your eyelids
Gently stimulating your eyelids, either by brushing or massaging, can promote healthy skin around your eyes. For your lashes, regular brushing helps improve blood circulation and stimulates lash growth. You can use an eyelash comb or an old mascara wand to brush your lashes gently for 5 minutes, twice a day.
For your eyelids, gently massaging them can stimulate the hair follicles, promoting healthy lash growth. When massaging, be extra gentle as the skin around your eyes is very thin and sensitive.
