In a skincare routine, moisturizer has the task of nourishing, hydrating, and preventing common issues like aging, acne, controlling excess oil, and dryness. Therefore, choosing a suitable moisturizer will help your skin become smoother. However, when choosing a moisturizer, you need to consider the ingredients to ensure that they are suitable for your skin. In the case that you are using a moisturizer and notice the following two signs, it’s time to change the product you are using.

1. Dry and tight skin after use

The purpose of moisturizer is to provide moisture to make the skin soft and smooth. If your skin still feels tight and dry after applying moisturizer, it means that the moisturizer is not meeting the needs of your skin, which also means that your skin lacks moisture. Over time, this can lead to dryness and tightness, reduce the regeneration process, and form wrinkles.

You should choose a different moisturizer that is suitable for your skin type and has enough ingredients to meet the moisture needs of your skin.

2. Increased oily skin

If after applying moisturizer, your skin becomes oily or feels sticky, it is possible that the moisturizing ingredients in the product are exceeding the absorption capacity of your skin.

If you use this product for a long time, it can lead to clogged pores. You should switch to gentle products with a thinner texture, such as gel or lotion.

When buying moisturizer, you should not choose based on impulse or follow the crowd. Many moisturizers are only suitable for one type of skin. For example, if you have oily skin and choose a thick cream moisturizer with a high moisture content, it can cause oily skin and clogged pores.

Note:

– Products with oil-based, thick cream texture, and ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin, ceramides, extracts from green tea, grape, shea butter, vitamin E and C… are suitable for dry skin.

Water-based gel, watery texture, and thin cream texture that easily absorbs into the skin… are suitable for oily skin.

For combination skin, moisturizers with lotion or milk-like texture and gentle ingredients that cause less irritation should be used as these dry areas are very sensitive. Sensitive skin should avoid ingredients that are easy to irritate like parabens, Sodium lauryl sulfate foaming agents. For acne-prone skin, choose thin and light products to keep the skin breathable. Some necessary ingredients include: Hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid…
