Recently, Diệu Nhi and Anh Tú along with their colleagues attended the premiere of their new movie called “Gặp lại chị bầu” (Meeting With Pregnant Sister). Playing the role of a pregnant woman in the film, Diệu Nhi also faced questions about whether her real-life experience helped her portray the character more naturally.
She explained that it’s not about having personally experienced something in order to be able to act it out in a film, but rather about how she embodies the character and lives with the character.
“All the characters I have portrayed so far in my career are not necessarily based on personal experiences. When I played a ghost in a play, it didn’t mean I had to die and become a ghost. What matters is how I portray the character, the story of the character, and working with the team and everyone involved.”
“In the film, my character suffers from a serious illness. In real life, I don’t have to be seriously ill to understand how it feels. I also borrowed a lot of emotions from myself, my family, and the people around me, as well as experiences I’ve heard of. When I step into the character, I live together with the character, hoping that everyone can see my efforts,” Diệu Nhi shared.
Receiving a suitable and engaging script led Diệu Nhi and Anh Tú to decide to collaborate on this project, despite previously not feeling truly convinced by other offers.
“As husband and wife who are also colleagues, we don’t have to avoid working together. This is a role I have been waiting for a long time, and Tú is the one who invited me to join this project. I also told Tú that being husband and wife and acting in a romantic film can create some hesitation.
In fact, there have been many projects that invited both of us, but we still didn’t find them suitable. However, this project made us rethink and decide to participate. In work, as long as the script is good and well-written, it doesn’t matter whether it’s Anh Tú or someone else. Whether it’s family or strangers, it’s the same, but family members tend to be more demanding and critical,” Diệu Nhi shared.
In addition to Diệu Nhi and Anh Tú, the film “Gặp lại chị bầu” also features the participation of other artists such as Lê Giang, Kiều Minh Tuấn, Ngọc Phước, and Quốc Khánh.
