With the arrival of winter, when you feel cold while sleeping, some of you might use an electric blanket to warm the bed. In my personal opinion, it is best not to use an electric blanket, as it is inherently associated with electricity and can pose some risks. Additionally, an electric blanket consumes more energy if left on all night. During winter, if you feel too cold in your blanket, you can use the following methods to keep the blanket warm.

Firstly, before going to sleep, we fold the blanket. Fold the sides of the blanket inward, and then fold the tail of the blanket inward, so that after folding, the heat inside the blanket can be retained, preventing the heat from dissipating easily.

The first method: Use a hairdryer

We take a hairdryer and set it to the highest heat level. Then, lift up the head of the blanket and blow inside the blanket for a while. Perform this action for about five minutes. During this time, the hot air will increase, so the excess heat inside the blanket will be relatively high, helping to keep the blanket warm.

After five minutes, we can slip into the blanket and feel the warmth. When touching the blanket, the body will release an appropriate amount of heat. Both sides of the blanket and the lower part of the blanket are folded, so in this way, the heat in the blanket will always exist and not easily dissipate, even if you sleep all night, the inside of the blanket will still be warm.

The second method: Use a hot water bag

Many families often use a rechargeable hot water bag. We charge the hot water bag beforehand and place it on the bed before sleeping. If some of you have cold feet while sleeping, you can place the hot water bag at the bottom of the blanket. The heat released by the hot water bag can last for a few hours, so we can sleep until morning while the blanket remains warm.

The third method: Use a hot water bottle

If you don’t have a hot water bottle at home, we can take a relatively thick plastic bottle, fill it with warm water around 50 degrees. The water temperature should not be too high, otherwise the plastic bottle will easily deform. After filling, close the lid tightly, and it can be used directly.

Now, we place the water bottle inside the blanket. You can also place several warm water bottles to keep the blanket warm, so that the heat released by the plastic bottles will be more. After the water temperature in the bottle cools down, remove the plastic bottle, and the inside of the blanket will be warmer.

In addition to warming the blanket in winter, every day when we wake up, the bedsheet tends to slip. Sometimes we wake up and find that one side of the blanket or the bedsheet has slipped onto the floor. If the bedsheet slips during the night, it is easy to catch a cold.

Usually, we can use a few clips with joints to clip the edge of the bedsheet to the mattress to fix it. Even if we kick the blanket off, it will not easily slide off, and the next morning, you won’t need to tidy up because the bedsheet will still be neat.
