Prepare the ingredients
Pork ribs: 1kg
Vegetable oil: 2 tablespoons
Seasonings including: Honey: 3 tablespoons, Garlic: 3 cloves, Dried onions: 3 cloves, Fish sauce: 1 tablespoon, Sesame oil: 1 tablespoon, Salt: 1 tablespoon, Bouillon: 1 tablespoon, Monosodium glutamate: 1 tablespoon.
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients
To make the ribs delicious, you should choose the non-fat part of the ribs, long ribs, or rib flaps. Before cooking, soak the ribs in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove any blood stains. Then you can rinse the ribs with white wine, ginger, and salt to remove any unpleasant smell. You should blanch the ribs to make them firm and remove any remaining impurities. Place the ribs in a pot of water, boil until boiling, then remove. Rinse the ribs once more and let them drain or use a paper towel to dry them.
Prepare the garlic and dried onions by peeling and finely chopping them.
Step 2: Marinate the grilled ribs
Put the prepared ribs into a large bowl, depending on the size of the grilling pan, you can cut the ribs shorter or leave them whole. Add the following seasonings to the bowl: 3 tablespoons of honey, minced garlic and onions, 1/2 tablespoon of bouillon, 1 tablespoon of monosodium glutamate, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
Put on gloves and mix and knead the ribs with the seasoning mixture to marinate evenly. Put the ribs in a sealed container and refrigerate. If you have time, you can marinate them longer for a tender and flavorful result. If you don’t have time, marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Step 3: Grill the ribs
Method 1: Grilling with an air fryer: Place aluminum foil on the air fryer tray, then arrange the ribs on top. It is recommended not to grill too many ribs at once, leave some space for the ribs to have a nice color and char. Set the air fryer temperature to about 180 degree C and grill for about 15 minutes. When the time is up, use chopsticks to flip the ribs and continue grilling at 160 degree C for another 15 minutes.
Method 2: Grilling with a non-stick pan: Put the marinated ribs into the pan, add half a bowl of water, bring to a boil and then reduce the heat until the water evaporates and the ribs become charred. You can also brush oil in the pan, heat the pan, and then add the ribs to sear. Both methods work, but adding water will make the ribs softer.
Method 3: Grilling with an oven: Preheat the oven for about 5 minutes. Place the ribs on a baking tray. Set the oven to about 200 degree C and grill for about 15 minutes. Set the grill to evenly heat all 3 sides. After 15 minutes, check if the ribs need more charring, then grill for another 5 minutes if necessary.
