According to “Decision 06/QD-TTg 2022”. The plan to develop applications for population data and identification, electronic authentication to serve the national digital transformation from 2022 to 2025 is prescribed as follows:

For cases that are not standardized after April 1, 2023, the SIM will be locked in one direction.
Starting from April 15, 2023, it will be locked in two directions.
Start recovering SIM if it is not standardized by May 15, 2023.

What information does a mobile subscription include?

To use the SIM normally after March 31, 2023, you need to provide the following information to the network operators to avoid SIM lock:

For individual subscribers, you only need to provide:

First and last name of the subscriber.
Nationality of the subscriber.
Date of birth.
Identity card or passport with information about the number, date, issuing agency of the personal identification papers.
Permanent address of the subscriber if they are Vietnamese citizens.
A clear and sharp personal photo.

For organization subscribers, additional documents are required such as:

Name of the organization using the subscription.
Specific address of the trading office.
Complete information on the documents of the organization as prescribed in Decree 25/2011/ND-CP, Article 15, Clause 5.

Register on the My Viettel app

To register information on the My Viettel app, you need to follow these 3 steps:

Step 1: Start by downloading the “My Viettel” app to your phone, then open the app and enter your phone number you are using and click on “Sign in with OTP”. You will receive an OTP code via SMS, enter the OTP code to log in to the homepage. On the homepage of the app, go to the “Utilities” category, then choose “Other Utilities”.

Step 2: Next, select “Change documents”. Then proceed to fill in the related information such as “Customer Information, Subscription Information, and Contract Information”.

Step 3: After filling in all the information, sign the “Confirmation Signature”, then click “Continue” and enter the “OTP Confirmation” code to complete.

Register on the My VNPT app

If your SIM card is locked due to outdated information, you can follow these steps without going directly to VinaPhone stores.

Step 1: You need to download the “My VNPT” app and enter your phone number as required and click on “Sign in with OTP” to log in. Then you will receive an OTP code via SMS, enter the code to confirm. Next, click on the “Subscription Information” category and then click on “Update”.

Step 2: The system will send another OTP code, you just need to enter the code to confirm, then select the “CCCD/CMND or passport” category for verification. After entering the information, click “Continue”, then take photos of the “Front, back of the ID card, and portrait” and click “Confirm”. Finally, double-check the entered information, “Sign the name”, then click “Confirm” and click “Update” to complete.

Register on the My MobiFone app

Similar to the above two network operators, the steps to register information with the MobiFone network are also very simple.

Step 1: You need to download and log in to the “My MobiFone” app. On the homepage, click on “Utilities” and then select “Information Standardization”. If your phone number has been standardized, there will be a notification.

Step 2: If your phone number has not been standardized, click on “Update Information”, then enter the required information and click “Commit”. Then, sign and click “Continue” and finally “Update” to complete.
