On March 1, 2024, the Department of Information and Communication of Ho Chi Minh City along with the Cybersecurity and High-tech Crime Prevention Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Police invited Nam Em for a meeting. The Department of Information and Communication of Ho Chi Minh City has issued an administrative fine of 37.5 million VND against Nam Em. Furthermore, a warning has been given regarding actions that affect the honor and reputation of others as well as incite social unrest. Currently, Nam Em has not yet responded after being fined.

On the evening of February 28, Nam Em’s boyfriend stated that she had difficulty breathing due to an allergic reaction to pain medication and had to be hospitalized urgently. In addition, he also affirmed that Nam Em received an invitation letter and not a summons to the Department of Information and Communication.
The original statement shared by Nam Em’s boyfriend: “I, Bui Huu Cuong, am the representative and manager of Nam Em. This morning, on February 28, 2024, on the way to the Department of Information and Communication, Nam Em showed signs of difficulty breathing due to an allergic reaction to pain medication and had to be admitted to Binh Thanh Hospital. After that, I went to the Department of Information and Communication to represent her. I also want to clarify that Nam Em received an invitation letter, not a summons, so I hope everyone will look at it from an objective perspective. After working with the Department of Information and Communication, Nam Em and I will have a meeting later this week, and then there will be official results from the department. Regarding Nam Em’s situation, no one wants to be in a condition where they are unable to meet the health requirements to cooperate with the Department of Information and Communication.”

He also revealed the condition of his girlfriend: “She suffers from anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and bipolar disorder, so when she is mentally unstable, it can lead to behavior and words that are not appropriate. So I hope that people will have a more empathetic view instead of being toxic. While waiting for official information from the Department of Information and Communication, I hope that people will not spread misinformation that pushes the story too far. I sincerely thank you.”
