Paper Masks
– Smooth out the paper mask to ensure it adheres tightly and evenly to your skin. Avoid the eye area as the skin around the eyes is only a quarter of the thickness of regular skin and requires specialized care.
– Leaving the mask on longer than instructed will not enhance absorption.
– Gently massage your face with your fingertips or use a quartz or jade roller to help your skin absorb the essence better.
– Remove the mask. Do not peel it off too quickly.
– After removing the mask, if you find that the essence has been absorbed quickly, gently massage your face to help it absorb completely. There is no need to rinse unless your skin feels overloaded with moisture. In that case, do not rinse with water; instead, use a toner to remove excess product while retaining moisture and the mask’s nutrients.
Wash-off Masks
– Apply an even layer of the mask to your face, avoiding the eye area. Ensure the layer is not too thick or too thin to allow for consistent absorption.
– You may apply a damp paper mask on top to lock in moisture and enhance the product’s effectiveness.
– After 15-20 minutes (or as directed), rinse your face with warm water to remove the product, and then splash your face with cold water to tighten pores.
– Proceed with your regular moisturizing routine to seal in the mask’s nutrients.
Clay Masks
– When the mask is still wet, your skin is absorbing the nutrients and minerals from it.
– As the mask starts to dry, the clay draws out impurities and deep-cleanses your pores.
– Once the mask is completely dry, it begins to absorb moisture from your skin, which can lead to dryness and irritation. Therefore, the best time to wash it off is during the second phase, when it feels dry to the touch but still has some moisture and is slightly tacky.
Sleeping Masks
– Apply a thick layer of the sleeping mask and leave it on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it off. Your skin will instantly feel refreshed and hydrated.
– Alternatively, after your regular skincare routine, apply a sufficient amount of the sleeping mask to your face. Gently massage it into your skin in a circular motion, moving from the inside out. Pay extra attention to the areas around your eyes and mouth to reduce fine lines. Do not rinse; leave the mask on overnight.
