Vietnamese actress Thu Quỳnh recently shared a heartwarming post, introducing her newborn daughter and revealing her adorable nickname, “Thị Tằm.” She expressed her overwhelming joy, embracing motherhood for the second time. “Hello, Wonder Week! Welcoming the first wonders of ‘Thị Tằm,’” she wrote.
In the shared photograph, Thu Quỳnh exudes happiness and contentment, radiating the beauty of a proud mother. A friend even offered an old folk’s tip, suggesting she draw eyebrows with betel leaves for good luck and future beauty.
Prior to the birth, Thu Quỳnh had shared glowing photos from the final stages of her pregnancy, along with a heartfelt message about her choice to become a single mother again. “Since deciding to have a second child and, once again, become a single mother, I truly believe that happiness is a choice,” she wrote. “You can choose to reject the bad and embrace the sweet happiness in your own way. Your birth into this world and your ability to bring new life are sacred missions that deserve love, cherishing, and respect.”
Thu Quỳnh’s decision to become a single mother again sparked mixed reactions, with some assuming a rift in her relationship. However, she has chosen to keep the details of her personal life private, only revealing that her second child was conceived on her 35th birthday.
In response to the speculations and judgments, Thu Quỳnh penned a heartfelt letter, expressing her frustration. “Why has my story become so dramatic? Who was left just before giving birth? Who announced their breakup? Whose child won’t have a father? Who is in pain here?” she asked. “I rarely regret my decisions. What’s right for me may not be for others, and that’s okay. Don’t ‘tragedy’ the term ‘single mother.’ I simply don’t want to remarry or have another wedding; that’s all. Legally, I’m still a single mother, a single woman with two children, and there’s nothing wrong with that.”
She continued, “I share my choices not to seek judgment but to assert my happiness, which doesn’t depend on others’ approval. My happiness is mine to choose and embrace.”
