Conversion at network provider transaction points

You will bring your ID card/personal identification card to the transaction points of the eSIM network provider you are using (Viettel, MobiFone, or Vinaphone) for conversion. After confirming accurate personal information, the staff will proceed with the conversion for you. This process takes place quickly, usually within 15 – 20 minutes.

Conversion through network provider application

The conversion method directly on the application is currently available for Viettel and MobiFone, VinaPhone does not have it yet. So if you are using these two network providers, you can refer to the instructions through the My Viettel application (similar to MobiFone) in the following steps:

Step 1. Access the My Viettel application > Tap on the three horizontal lines icon in the top left corner of the screen > Select Utilities > Select Change SIM.

Step 2. Then select Change eSIM > Choose Online signature.

Step 3. Fill in the required personal information and press Continue to proceed with the conversion fee payment.

Step 4. The system will notify you as soon as the eSIM conversion process is completed. You will access the registered email and scan the QR code to complete the process of setting up eSIM on another device.

Transferring eSIM through a Secondary SIM – MultiSim

The MultiSim service is very supportive if you want to use and switch eSIM flexibly on multiple devices.

To use the MultiSim service, you will go to the transaction points of the network provider you are using to register for an additional secondary SIM in the form of eSIM. Then, the network provider will provide you with a QR code to scan or a series of key codes to use on the new device.

Transferring eSIM via Bluetooth on iPhone

From iOS 16 onwards, Apple has introduced the feature of transferring eSIM between iPhones via Bluetooth, so you may not need to scan the QR code. You can easily switch eSIM following the steps below:

Step 1: Open Settings and select Mobile Data. Next, scroll down and select Add Mobile Plan to start installing eSIM.

Step 2: Here, you will encounter 2 methods: Transfer from another iPhone and using a QR code. You choose Transfer from another iPhone to complete the conversion process.

Note:

  • Only applicable to iPhones running iOS 16 and above.
  • During the conversion process, make sure that both iPhones are near each other, have their screens turned on, and activate Bluetooth.
  • As the feature is still in the testing phase, some network providers may not fully support it.
