The Ede beauty’s homemade dishes are cooked in a simple and heartfelt kitchen. Her mother was busy grilling fish to prepare a traditional dish of her ethnic group. Meanwhile, H’Hen Nie attentively served the food to treat everyone. As she brought out a bowl of soup, the beauty queen humbly shared: “This is a very humble dish, but I hope you will still enjoy it.”

Miss Universe Vietnam presented a humble meal to a group of library sponsors. There was nothing luxurious, yet she referred to it as “Addictive dishes that go well with rice.”

The beauty queen from the Central Highlands enthusiastically presented a bowl of soup and shared that it was a well-known dish of the Ede people, especially during the rainy season when young shoots of gourd and squash are abundant.
This soup contains a type of green leaf to add color, a small amount of rice for thickness, and is seasoned with shallots.
H’Hen Nie also shared her favorite dish when she returns home – dried and pounded fish, a “rice-consuming” dish that her family adores.
“Next is grilled meat, a fancy dish. The pork from Hen’s hometown has a very fragrant and strong flavor. It is usually sold at 4-5 am, ensuring its freshness,” she introduced.
This is where H’Hen Nie’s family’s dishes are created, featuring both a wood-fire stove and a gas stove, with all utensils being rather simple.
H’Hen Nie’s mother continued grilling fish in the kitchen, using a long stick to pound it. The beauty queen, along with her father, served the meal to their guests.
Additionally, they served stir-fried vegetables. The beauty queen offered a “dessert” of ripe jackfruit to everyone. The meal lacked luxurious ingredients, yet it excited everyone, and the “mountain beauty queen” always felt satisfied whenever she enjoyed these dishes!
Miss H’Hen Nie once shared one of her family’s favorite pounded dishes, bitter melon pounded: Ingredients – Bitter melon. – Shallots. – Lemongrass leaves. – Lime. – Salt. – MSG – Chili. – Herbs. Instructions – Preparation: Cut small bitter melons into four pieces, and longer ones into smaller pieces, then soak them in water and rinse thoroughly. Chop the herbs into small sections. – Pounding process: Put chili and a pinch of salt in the mortar and start pounding. Next, add shallots, followed by herbs, and then bitter melon. Finally, add lemongrass leaves and pound together. Squeeze lime at the end, and it’s done. If you like MSG, you can add some.
