Why is it said that the poor do not fix their doors?

Feng shui believes that the door of the house is where wealth and luck enter, it is where the God of Wealth passes through. The ancients believed that the main door is the face of the homeowner. The door reflects prosperity and wealth. Noble houses have sturdy, beautiful doors that are always closed and protected. Poor houses have loose, dilapidated doors, even stuck or warped.

The concept of feng shui states that the door area represents wealth and the influx of luck, so many people want to renovate their doors to give their house a new look, to attract wealth and change their fortunes in business, to prove to the world how successful their home is. Many people believe that having a grander door will make the house more majestic, more beautiful in the eyes of the public, and will bring good luck. However, the ancients taught that if you are poor and want to change your fortunes, you should not rely on fixing your door. Because if you are already poor and still invest in the door, you will only become even poorer. To change your fortunes, you must change the inner qualities. Feng shui teaches that personality comes from the heart, and the heart is more important than appearances. The same goes for your home, if the door is beautiful but the inside of the house is ugly, violating many feng shui principles, it will not bring any benefits, it’s just ornamentation.

That’s why the ancients advised us not to spend money on fixing the door to change our fortunes because if we are poor and still do this, it will only add burdens, and it is just temporary. Moreover, the door is a sacred place, it cannot be arbitrarily repaired, as it may disrupt feng shui. Improper repair of the door can bring disaster to the family. Why do the rich not move their tombs?

The spiritual aspect is very important in feng shui. According to the beliefs of the ancient common people, descendants enjoy the blessings of their ancestors. If the family is already prosperous and rich, it means that the ancestors’ tomb is at peace, so there is no need to disturb it. The realm of the ancestors needs tranquility. Many rich people want to move their ancestors’ tombs to show their power and influence in the community, to show that they are filial and considerate, but they do not understand that disturbing the ancestors’ tomb disrupts the feng shui. Especially with the spiritual dimension, it is not about tinkering with it and then showing off with external appearances, but it is about the importance of the feng shui, the geographical location of the ancestors’ resting place. Arbitrarily disturbing the tomb is a serious violation of feng shui!
