Manual method to check ink levels in a printer

The simplest way to check the remaining ink level in a printer is to use the manual method.

Step 1: First, you need to turn on the printer and open the top or middle cover of the device. This will position the ink cartridges correctly. Look for the arrow that indicates how to open the cover correctly. Many printers will open from the top or reveal the printer ink cartridge box at the front.

Step 2: Carefully remove the individual ink cartridges by gently pressing on the cartridge and then opening the box and removing the ink cartridge.

If you have multiple ink cartridges, perform the same steps with each ink cartridge to check the ink level inside.

Although this method is simple, it can be time-consuming if the printer has multiple ink cartridges. Therefore, this method is only suitable for newcomers to printer usage or when it is not possible to check the ink level through the computer.

Checking the remaining ink in a printer using a computer

Another way to check the remaining ink in a printer is by using a computer connected to the printer. If the printer is connected to multiple computers, you only need to access your computer or log into the main computer to check the printer ink.

Step 1: Before checking, make sure the printer and the computer are turned on and connected to each other.

Step 2: Open the printer application on the computer and go to the Estimate Ink Levels tab.

Step 3: Check the ink levels.

• For Mac computers: Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen > Select System Preferences Application > Select Printer & Scanners > Click on the Supply Levels tab to check the printer ink levels.

• For Windows computers: Select the Start Menu > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Select View devices and Printers > Right-click on the printer to check the ink and select Printing Preferences > Find the Estimate Ink levels or Get Ink levels option to check the remaining ink levels in the printer.
