Printers are an essential tool that helps with office work as well as in certain organizations such as schools, hospitals, etc. In this article, FPT Shop will guide you on how to reset Brother printers for all models currently on the market.
What is Printer Reset?
Reset is an English word that means “restart” when translated to Vietnamese. Resetting a Brother printer includes resetting the printer toner and drum. Unlike other printers that use chips to calculate the number of pages printed by the toner and drum, Brother printers use gears to calculate the lifecycle of the toner and the number of pages printed varies depending on the model.
- The sign to know that the toner needs to be reset is when the printer toner light flashes (for printers without LCD screens) or displays messages like Replace Toner, Toner Low, Toner Life End, etc. (for printers with LCD screens).
- The sign to know that the drum needs to be reset is when the LCD screen displays messages like Replace Drum, Drum End Soon (for printers with LCD screens) or the Drum light is on (for printers without LCD screens).
Since Brother printers use gears, sometimes even if you have just replaced the toner, you may still get messages like Replace Toner or Toner Low. Or in the case of a newly replaced drum, you may receive a Replace Drum message soon after. If this happens, it is possible that your Brother printer is experiencing some issues. At this point, resetting the printer is the effective solution to solve the problem.
