Third: The Consequences of Verbal Karma are Severe
Buddha Shakyamuni said: “Disaster comes from the mouth, and a careless word invites immeasurable suffering”. Therefore, we must be mindful of our speech in daily life. Verbal karma is like a mountain, and it is truly terrifying. A physical wound may heal, but the hurt caused by words may never truly disappear.
Buddha also said: “Those who create verbal karma will suffer terribly in Hell”. Thus, how can we not be cautious with our words?
In today’s society, many people are atheists and do not believe in karma or the consequences of their actions. Money and personal gain are prioritized, and people are willing to do anything to achieve their goals, regardless of morality. This leads to unfortunate consequences.
