The 3 Unforgivable Sins: Ingratitude, Debauchery, and What Else?

"Ancient wisdom reminds us that the heavens watch over us, with the saying, “There are Gods and Spirits watching over us from above three meters.” Every action, every choice we make, is observed by the divine. So, if you believe that “as you do, so shall you reap,” then beware of these three heinous acts that will invite heavy karmic retribution."

First: The Greatest Sin is Disobedience to Parents

Confucius said in the Analects: “Filial piety is the root of virtue”. Of all the virtues, filial piety comes first. A person’s greatest achievements and accolades are rendered meaningless if they are disobedient to their parents. Any devotion to a higher power is also considered false and hypocritical.

The ancients said: “Of a hundred virtues, filial piety is the chief”. Filial piety is the finest quality in a person and a path to success.

A child’s attitude towards their parents will impact their destiny. Thus, disobedience is considered one of the greatest “crimes”, with immediate karmic consequences.

Second: Adultery has Severe Retribution

An ancient saying goes: “Of all evils, lust is the most evil”. Even if a person has achieved success and fame, if they are consumed by lust, their fortune will be lost.

When people are driven by lust, they give rise to evil thoughts and act without shame, going against morality. Various evil deeds stem from this root cause.

Those with lustful minds are greedy and obsessed with fame, gain, and illusory desires. As a result, they suffer the consequences of insatiable desires and a restless mind.

Today’s modern society promotes sexual promiscuity, treating it as a basic need or even a commodity. However, it is important to recognize that indulging in such behavior is considered a grave sin.

Third: The Consequences of Verbal Karma are Severe

Buddha Shakyamuni said: “Disaster comes from the mouth, and a careless word invites immeasurable suffering”. Therefore, we must be mindful of our speech in daily life. Verbal karma is like a mountain, and it is truly terrifying. A physical wound may heal, but the hurt caused by words may never truly disappear.

Buddha also said: “Those who create verbal karma will suffer terribly in Hell”. Thus, how can we not be cautious with our words?

In today’s society, many people are atheists and do not believe in karma or the consequences of their actions. Money and personal gain are prioritized, and people are willing to do anything to achieve their goals, regardless of morality. This leads to unfortunate consequences.

Frequently asked questions

The three unforgivable sins in Christianity are often considered to be ingratitude, debauchery, and blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Ingratitude is seen as a grave offense as it involves a lack of appreciation and thankfulness for the blessings and grace received from God. It is a form of disrespect and can lead to a breakdown in one’s relationship with God.

Debauchery refers to excessive indulgence in sexual pleasures and sensuality. It is considered unforgivable when it becomes a habitual and intentional disregard for God’s laws and teachings, causing harm to oneself and others.

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is considered the most serious form of blasphemy as it involves a deliberate and persistent rejection of God’s grace and the work of the Holy Spirit. It is seen as an unforgivable sin because it hardens the heart against God’s love and redemption.

While the three mentioned sins are often emphasized as unforgivable, some Christian denominations may include additional sins such as murder or apostasy. However, it is important to note that the concept of ‘unforgivable sins’ should not discourage individuals from seeking forgiveness and reconciliation with God.
