“A week before the holiday, my family and I tried to book an additional room in Mang Den, but everywhere was fully booked. I searched on multiple apps and even asked for help from local homestay hosts, to no avail,” said Ms. Thu.
Mr. Le Manh Hung, the owner of Nang Homestay in Mang Den, stated that many guests had been trying to book rooms for the 2/9 holiday one or two months in advance. He opened up bookings three weeks prior to the holiday, and all 12 of his rooms were immediately snapped up. Currently, his homestay is fully booked from August 31st to September 2nd.
Mr. Bui Viet Ha, Chairman of the Mang Den Tourism Association, said that there are currently 1,200 to 1,300 rooms available in Mang Den town, a 30% increase from last year. According to the association’s survey, the room occupancy rate for the 2/9 holiday has already reached almost 100%. Only a few small and newly opened accommodations that have not yet been widely promoted to tourists remain available.

According to Mr. Ha, most of the guests visiting Mang Den during this period are from nearby provinces such as Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Quy Nhon, and Dak Lak. Thanks to the cool weather, beautiful scenery, and captivating local culture, Mang Den has also been a popular destination this summer, with high room occupancy rates during weekends.
Mr. Ha added that during the 2/9 holiday, Mang Den will host various artistic and tourism events, including music nights on August 30th and 31st, a gong festival, and culinary experiences, to attract tourists.
“Accommodations in Mang Den have posted specific price lists. Most establishments will increase their rates by only 10-20% during the holiday period. We want guests to leave Mang Den satisfied and eager to return,” Mr. Ha shared.
