Opening in December 2024, this nearly 20-km-long metro line boasts a 2.6-km underground section, three underground stations, and 11 elevated stops. With a total investment of nearly VND 44,000 billion, the line features 17 trains, each capable of accommodating 930 passengers. Cash-paying passengers will be charged VND 7,000 to VND 20,000 for a single ticket, depending on the distance traveled. Those opting for cashless payments will enjoy a slight discount, with fares ranging from VND 6,000 to VND 19,000.
According to the American magazine, the metro line will offer tourists a respite from the blaring horns and traffic jams that often plague the city’s roads. This convenient mode of transport will make it easier to access popular destinations such as the Opera House, Nguyen Hue Walking Street, and Bui Vien Street during peak hours.
