How to wash white shoes without turning yellow

Step 1

Brush toothpaste onto the shoes

First, you remove the shoe laces, then put the shoes into the water-filled basin.

Use an old toothbrush and apply some toothpaste to the shoe’s body, then proceed to scrub the entire pair of shoes, especially the hard-to-reach areas.

After finishing scrubbing, you hang the shoes out to dry for about 30 minutes to let the bleach in the toothpaste soak into the shoes.

Step 2

Soak the shoes in detergent water

Next, you soak the shoes with detergent powder for about 1-2 hours (if the shoes have a lot of stains). After soaking, you continue to scrub the shoes and rinse them with water until they are clean.

Step 3

Use paper towels to wrap around the shoes

At this point, when the shoes are still wet, you use a lot of paper towels to wrap them, including the shoe laces. Stuff the paper towels inside, every nook and cranny as shown in the picture.

Once done, you hang the shoes outside in a cool place.

After about 4 hours when the shoes are slightly dry, you put paper towels or newspapers inside the shoes to maintain their shape.
