According to the report, children with highly educated fathers have a 7.5 times higher chance of success in school than children with fathers who have lower education levels.
However, there are still many exceptions that come from the efforts and determination of the child. There are parents who lack knowledge and skills to raise their children, but their children still have many opportunities to grow up and cultivate good qualities. Parents who have to struggle to make ends meet often find it difficult to think about their children’s education. Many parents work in the city and send their children back to their grandparents in the countryside. They can only provide their children with basic necessities and cannot support them financially or educationally.
Wealthy parents, on the other hand, can easily hire good teachers, send their children to good schools, and nurture their various interests. Poor parents, however, can only provide their children with food, clothing, and compulsory education. Success or failure depends entirely on the efforts and willpower of the child.

The results showed that parental influence on the next generation goes beyond what we think. This influence comes from various factors, not just money, but also includes the sustainability of marriage, empathy, social networks, and parents’ knowledge.
One notable result is that family background significantly influences a person’s chances of graduating from university. A child growing up in a low-income family, even with good grades in secondary school, has fewer opportunities to graduate from university compared to those with lower grades but from high-income families. In addition, parents with higher education levels tend to encourage their children to pursue higher education.
Of course, having resources and assets is necessary, even a prerequisite for a child’s starting point, but it is not enough. If wealthy parents only focus on money and neglect their children’s education, their children will not be able to succeed.

Parents who dare to “break” a conventional path, children who challenge different choices; parents who encourage and children who become more confident; parents who bear more responsibilities and children who have more advantages.
