How to Choose Delicious Squid

First of all, to have a delicious and satisfactory steamed squid dish, you need to choose fresh and tasty squids. When looking at the squids, you will see that they are firm and not flabby, with good elasticity. Especially, the eyes of the squids are still bright and not cloudy, indicating that they are freshly caught. Additionally, you can smell the scent of the squids to determine if they are fresh or not.

At the same time, when buying squids, you should purchase them from familiar seafood stores so that they will not be sold for a long time and ensure the quality of your dish. The best kind of squid is the live squid. But if you can’t get live squids, you just need to check the joints at the head of the squid. If they are still firm, it means that the squids are freshly caught. On the contrary, if the head of the squid comes off, it indicates that the squids have been stored for a long time.
