2 How to Make Takoyaki Banh Tet
Step 1 Shape the Dough
Start by peeling the Banh Tet and cutting it into round slices to easily remove the filling. Set the filling aside and mash the sticky rice! If the rice is hard, you can steam it again to make it softer and easier to mash.
Coat your hands with cooking oil to prevent sticking, and take a small amount of the mashed rice, rolling it into a ball. Then, flatten the ball and fill it with the Banh Tet filling, octopus, and ginger. Roll it back into a ball.

Step 2 Fry the Takoyaki
You can use a takoyaki pan or a similar pan with round molds. Add oil to each mold, coating the surface evenly. When the oil is hot, place the dough balls into the pan and fry. Use two skewers to skillfully turn the balls so they cook evenly and turn golden brown.

Step 3 The Final Product
Once the takoyaki balls are golden and crispy, remove them from the pan and drain the excess oil. Place them on a plate, drizzle with mayonnaise and takoyaki sauce, and sprinkle with bonito flakes. Enjoy!
