People all want to keep their homes clean and free from pest visits. However, using chemical pesticides has negative effects and is harmful to health. Here are some simple, easy, safe, and effective tips for getting rid of insects from home.
1. Cockroaches
Cockroaches reproduce very quickly and when they appear in the house, they bring very dangerous diseases. There are many products you can buy to kill cockroaches, but they often have very high chemical content.
If you don’t want to use harmful solutions, you can chop an onion and add a teaspoon of salt. Place this mixture in the corners of the house. Do it daily and soon you will see no sign of cockroaches in your house.
2. Flies
Flies vary in size and color. The important thing is to protect yourself, your family, and your pets from them. Mix 10 drops of lavender oil, 10 drops of rose oil, 10 drops of lemongrass oil, 5 drops of lavender oil, 5 drops of lemongrass or lemon oil, and a spoonful of alcohol. Mix them with 100ml of vinegar or water and pour into a spray bottle. Shake well and spray on clothes. Note: Do not spray on animal and pregnant women’s clothes.
3. Garden pests
You can keep spiders away if you know they don’t like strong smells. Add 5-10 drops of peppermint oil to a mixture of 200ml of water and 1/4 teaspoon of liquid detergent, shake well and spray in areas where spiders appear once a week. Peppermint oil can be replaced with eucalyptus, lemongrass, lavender, or tea tree oil.
5. Ants
Ants often crawl into places in your kitchen or food storage. If you want to keep them away, use cinnamon, as ants dislike the smell of it.
Sprinkle cinnamon powder in places where ants often appear. For better results, you can add a little essential oil to the cinnamon powder. This solution also has the additional benefit of making your home smell pleasant.
6. Dust mites
These insects are so small that we can’t see them with the naked eye. But they still appear around our beds. Dust mites can cause allergies and skin irritations.
Mix 6 tablespoons of eucalyptus oil with 1.5 tablespoons of liquid detergent. Pour them into a bucket of water and soak your clothes in it. Wash normally after 15 – 30 minutes. If you don’t like the smell of eucalyptus oil, you can replace it with tea tree oil, which is equally effective.
7. Moths
If you leave flour, cereals, or rice uncovered in the pantry, you may see moths appear immediately. Moths like grains and seeds but can also appear in flour or even cake mix. Try this trick.
Moths don’t like the smell of bay leaves or cloves. Place bay leaves or cloves on top of the food and around the storage box to keep them away from your food.
