On June 14th, during the Trooping the Colour parade, senior members of the Royal Household appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Among them, the young princes and princesses of the Prince and Princess of Wales stood out, including George, Charlotte, and Louis. Despite their young ages, the trio always seems to be “everyone’s favorite”. They effortlessly exude grace and elegance, a result of their careful upbringing, while also maintaining their youthful cheerfulness.

However, with Louis’ playful and free-spirited nature, he occasionally goes a bit overboard with his expressions. To bring her youngest child back in line, Kate had to take a firm stance. This occurred just before the family retreated inside the palace after the Red Arrows’ performance and as the national anthem began to play. According to lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman, Kate said to Prince Louis, “National anthem, Louis. Stand still.”

Kate’s words had their intended effect, as the young prince straightened up and remained focused throughout the anthem. Before heading inside, the family waved to the crowd, with Prince Louis turning back for one last goodbye. Prince George also played a part in guiding his brother, reminding him to stop waving when he noticed that no one else was doing so.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are no strangers to the Trooping the Colour event, having attended this annual celebration since they were very young. George first attended the monarch’s birthday celebration at almost two years old in 2015. The following year, Princess Charlotte joined her parents and brother. Prince Louis made his balcony debut at Trooping the Colour in 2019, captivating the crowd with his cheerful waves and fascination with the flying aircraft above.
