In the lead-up to the grand finale, Mr. Phúc, his wife, and some relatives took a train from Phú Yên to Huế to cheer on their daughter, Trúc Linh. As elementary school teachers with limited entertainment industry knowledge, Mr. Phúc advised his daughter to thoroughly research the program and understand the criteria when she shared her intention to participate in a beauty pageant.
“Trúc Linh received help from many friends who lent her clothes and shoes,” Mr. Phúc shared. “She asked me for money twice, once for one million VND and another time for 600,000 VND.”
The family was unable to attend the pageant’s semifinal round in Hanoi late April due to the illness of Trúc Linh’s grandmother, whom she was very close to. A few weeks later, Trúc Linh’s spirits dipped upon learning of her grandmother’s passing.
“After her coronation, Trúc Linh’s schedule will likely be packed, and I hope she has the energy to fulfill her new responsibilities,” expressed Mr. Phúc. “In 2023, after being crowned college beauty, she fell ill due to the pressure.”

According to her family, Trúc Linh has always been obedient and diligent, sharing her father’s quiet and reserved nature. In ninth grade, she started to tower over her peers, which made her self-conscious. However, as she entered university, she became more confident and outgoing. While her family encouraged her to become an English teacher, she chose to pursue a different path.
Due to their teaching commitments, Mr. Phúc could only accompany his daughter to Ho Chi Minh City for her enrollment once. Since then, she has been living independently in the city. In addition to her tuition fees, her parents provide her with a monthly allowance of six million VND. Occasionally, she works as a model, earning a few hundred thousand VND.
As Trúc Linh embarks on her journey as a beauty queen and enters showbiz, her parents, Mr. Phúc and Mrs. Hằng, remain supportive and confident in her ability to balance her new responsibilities. “I believe she can manage her schedule and use her influence to promote the cultural and tourism attractions of Phú Yên,” shared Mrs. Hằng.

Hà Trúc Linh, standing at 1.72 m tall with measurements of 80-59-95 cm, was crowned the winner out of 24 contestants. She took home a cash prize of 500 million VND. Her victory was expected by many viewers as she had consistently performed well throughout the competition. Leading up to the finale, various beauty forums and pages predicted her win.
During the pageant, Hà Trúc Linh also excelled in the show’s reality TV challenges. Moreover, she was invited to model for several fashion shows by renowned fashion houses during the competition.
Hoa Hậu Việt Nam, initiated and organized by Tiền Phong Newspaper, was first held in 1988 under the name Hoa Hậu Hội Báo Tiền Phong. Bùi Bích Phương from Hanoi was crowned the first winner. Over the years, despite the proliferation of beauty pageants, Hoa Hậu Việt Nam has maintained its quality and unique charm. Many winners of this pageant have gone on to succeed in various fields and become well-known figures.
