How does Ánh Vuong feel about her newfound title and the prestigious crown she now wears?
I am still overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for this incredible honor. While I am not yet accustomed to wearing the crown, I promise to work tirelessly to live up to its prestige through my upcoming activities with renewed energy and dedication.
Did you anticipate achieving this title when you returned to MGVN this year?
My goal for MGVN 2024 was to make it to the Top 5, and I am thrilled to have achieved that. I strived to showcase my best self during the performances and daily activities, and I am grateful that all my hard work paid off when I was announced as one of the finalists.
Did competing on your home turf give you a boost in gaining the judges’ attention and support?
Competing at home definitely brought me good luck and immense support from my local audience, which boosted my confidence. However, this did not result in any preferential treatment from the judges. The judging process was fair and impartial, offering equal opportunities to all contestants.
A level playing field was ensured, regardless of any home-field advantage.
Your performances this year were more subdued compared to your previous appearances. Were there any unseen pressures or challenges you faced?
I worked tirelessly for this year’s competition, putting in even more effort than last year. I focused on improving my catwalk, diet, lifestyle, and knowledge. While my preparation helped me overcome stage fright, I may not have brought the same level of energy as before. Rest assured, I am always striving to improve and bring my best self to the stage.
How did your family react to your outstanding achievement at MGVN?
Thank you for asking. My parents are overjoyed and incredibly proud to have witnessed my shining moment at MGVN. They, along with me, are grateful for the support and love shown by the people of Binh Thuan and the audience.
My father shared that after seeing me on TV as the 4th runner-up, well-wishers visited our home to congratulate and send their warm wishes to Ánh Vuong. It was truly heartwarming.
What was your initial reaction when you weren’t named Miss Fashion?
When the Top 5 for Miss Fashion was announced, I had hoped to reclaim that title. Part of me also felt that I might not win the main Miss Grand title or the runner-up positions, so Miss Fashion would have been a consolation. I had worked incredibly hard this year, juggling my university studies with my pageant preparations.
I was briefly disappointed when I didn’t win Miss Fashion, but that feeling faded when I made it to the Top 5 finalists. I was overjoyed and felt a sense of validation for all my efforts.
Ánh Vuong had set her heart on the Miss Fashion title but remained determined to succeed.
How did you train to achieve such confident and captivating catwalks?
Thank you for your kind words about my catwalk. Due to time and financial constraints, I couldn’t enroll in professional classes, so I mostly practiced on my own by watching catwalk videos and seeking feedback from friends. During the official pageant training sessions, I made sure to arrive early and stay late to observe and learn as much as possible.
Can you give our dear Eva readers an insight into your daily training routine?
My daily routine starts early, as I wake up at 5 am to begin my day with exercise. Running, skipping rope, and crunches are my go-to activities to get my body energized and ready for the day ahead.
In the afternoons, I focus on catwalk practice when my legs are well-rested. Additionally, I practice yoga and meditation on weekends to maintain my flexibility and mental focus, or I go for relaxing bike rides to unwind.
Ánh Vuong starts her mornings at 5 am, setting a positive and healthy tone for the day.
You have a sultry and modern appeal, but some say you look older than your age. What are your thoughts on this perception?
They say laughter causes wrinkles and speeds up the appearance of aging! Perhaps that’s why I seem older than my years. Or maybe it’s because I take the time to carefully consider my decisions and choices. I choose to view this feedback as a compliment on my maturity and presence.
What are your plans and goals after completing the media tour?
Following the media tour, I intend to further enhance my knowledge and skills in areas where I can improve. Simultaneously, I plan to engage in gratitude activities, volunteer work, and social initiatives to give back to the community. I am currently working on finalizing the specifics of my plan.
