1Remove the carpet from the treadmill
Step 1: Before removing the carpet, you need to unplug the power cord of the machine for safety reasons.
Step 2: Next, use specialized tools like a screwdriver to remove all the screws from the front cover of the treadmill (be careful not to break the side cover during the removal process).
Step 3: Use a lifting machine to remove the bottom screws and plastic screws from the back (if you don’t have a lifting machine, you can tilt the machine to remove the screws).
Step 4: After removing the plastic screws from the back, we proceed to remove the drive shaft from the back and remove both side foot rests of the machine (if any).
Step 5: Next, remove the running board.
Step 6: Finally, remove the running carpet from the machine and proceed to clean it.
2Clean the treadmill carpet
After removing the treadmill carpet, proceed to clean it, below are the simple steps of cleaning the carpet:

Step 4: After the carpet is dried, you proceed to reassemble the carpet into the treadmill following the sequence of details.
3How to lubricate the treadmill
After a period of use, lubricating the treadmill is essential in the operation process to ensure the machine operates effectively. Specifically, lubrication has the following benefits:
- Prevent the wear and tear of the treadmill carpet.
- Reduce noise during the treadmill’s operation as well as enhance the smoothness of the machine’s movements, improving workout efficiency.
- Maintain the operation of the machine’s components below the treadmill carpet, while extending the product’s lifespan.
Currently, there are 2 basic types of treadmills on the market: and .
How to lubricate a treadmill using a DC motor is carried out as follows:
- Unplug the power cord of the treadmill.
- Use specialized tools that come with the machine to open the 2 end screws of the machine.
- Use a soft cloth to clean the dust under the treadmill carpet.
- Lift the treadmill carpet gently, then apply about 30 ml of lubricant to form 2 long lines on both sides of the carpet.
- After the lubricant spreads evenly on the carpet, press the carpet lightly, then tighten the 2 screws that were removed earlier.
- After that, let the machine run at the lowest speed (1 – 2 km/h). Wait for the machine to warm up, and then step on the lubricated area so that the lubricant spreads evenly under the carpet.
- Continue to keep the machine running for about 5 minutes at a speed of 1 – 2 km/h to ensure that the lubricant is evenly spread and the carpet dries faster.
For treadmills, the device has been equipped with an automatic lubrication mode by the manufacturer. Therefore, to ensure that the machine is always in an efficient operating state, you need to clean and maintain the machine regularly, every 6 months.
In addition, the lubrication of the treadmill should also be based on the user’s training level, specifically as follows:
- Using the machine less than 3 hours/week: lubricate every 5 months.
- Using the machine for 3 – 7 hours: Lubricate every 3 months.
- Using the machine more than 7 hours/week: Lubricate once a month.
