With a new school year underway, there’s been a lot of discussion among parents about school lunches, especially after a recent post by an anonymous Vietnamese mother in an online group for first-grade students caught everyone’s attention.

Specifically, the mother shared a photo of her child’s school lunch, which was sent by the teacher to the class group. The lunch included white rice, fried eggs, stir-fried meat with corn, and soup. A box of milk was provided as a snack.

At first glance, the meal seemed to tick all the nutritional boxes. However, the mother was heartbroken to see that her child’s soup didn’t contain any vegetables.

Many parents in the comment section shared her sentiment, expressing their own heartbreak at seeing such a vegetable-less meal for their children.

Some questioned the budget for each meal, wondering if the lack of vegetables was due to financial constraints. Others argued that regardless of the budget, if there was enough money for meat, there should’ve been some allocation for vegetables to ensure a balanced diet for the children.
