For these single mothers, their children are their biggest motivation and source of pride.
Cindy Lu was once known as a famous Saigon heiress, with a family background that included her grandfather, Meritorious Artist Bao Quoc, and her brother, actor Gia Bao.

However, her life took a different turn as she followed her mother’s path and endured a difficult life after her family fell apart. Ever since then, Cindy Lu has always dreamed of having her own happy family and a husband to help raise her children.
Unfortunately, her first marriage, which was a teenage romance, ended in divorce. At the young ages of 22 and 23, Cindy Lu became a single mother of two daughters.
Leaving with nothing but her two “priceless assets,” Cindy Lu refused to receive any financial support from her ex-husband. This forced her to work tirelessly to provide for her children, taking on various jobs to make ends meet.
Every day, this single mother would wake up early to prepare orders for her online food business. Sometimes, she would have to send her children to their mother or uncle for care, and other times, she would juggle selling goods and taking care of her children at the same time.
“The hardest part about selling food online is having to wake up early every day to take and deliver orders to customers for breakfast. I usually stay up late, but I have to set an alarm to get up at 6 am.”
Cindy Lu took on multiple jobs to support her children.
“After waking up, I feed the children breakfast, bathe them, and let them play until lunchtime. After they eat, I prepare orders for customers, and during that time, the children play together. In the afternoon and evening, I spend all my time with the children. After putting them to bed, I prepare for the next day’s orders.” – Cindy Lu shared.
In addition to selling food, Cindy Lu also ventured into other businesses, leveraging her experience in financial independence since she was 18 years old. Her hard work and dedication paid off as she gained the trust of many customers, resulting in a good income to support her two children.
Recently, after nearly five years of officially divorcing her first husband, single mother Cindy Lu surprised many people by holding one of the grandest weddings in Saigon with her younger husband, the famous singer Dat G. The wedding was attended by numerous celebrity guests.
Before the wedding, Cindy Lu had publicly announced her relationship with her husband, especially sharing the touching moments of Dat G’s kindness towards her two daughters.
“There is something very sacred between Dat and the children. Dat is very sincere and loving towards them, always wanting the best for them. For example, if there are two toys, one expensive and one cheap, Dat will choose the expensive one for the children. He wakes up at 6:30 am to take them to school and picks them up in the afternoon.”
“The children also love and are proud of Dat. Once, I asked Cún why she loved her father so much. She replied, ‘Because Dad built a swimming pool for me. Dad loves me, so he did that.’ She was only 3 or 4 years old at the time.” – Cindy Lu shared.
At Cindy Lu’s wedding, her brother, actor Gia Bao, shared that for a long time, her two daughters had asked him to be their father. However, both Gia Bao and Cindy Lu now feel content knowing that the children have finally found a father figure who they love and respect.
Cindy Lu’s new family is supported and blessed by many people.
