A similar study on pancreatic cancer at the molecular level yielded comparable results. It showed that the compound helped prevent the development of pancreatic cancer cells in humans and also inhibited cell cycle progression in other cell lines.

Apigenin is highly effective in suppressing breast cancer. Scientists at the University of Missouri (USA) found that the compounds reduced hormone-stimulated breast tumors. This was the first study to demonstrate that apigenin, extracted from celery, parsley, and other natural sources, is effective against human breast cancer cells affected by a specific chemical used in hormone replacement therapy.
