- A box (this could be an old shoe box or any cardboard box)
- Twine
- Hot glue gun
- Linen fabric
- Scissors
Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Your Own Storage Basket
Step 1: If your box has a lid, cut it off.
Step 2: Glue and Wrap
Now, let’s move on to gluing and wrapping the twine. Glue the twine to the four corners of the box to start the first wrap. Once it’s securely glued, begin wrapping the twine tightly around the entire box. Make sure to wrap it tightly so that the box doesn’t show through the twine.
Stop wrapping when you’re about 3cm away from the top edge. Secure the end of the twine and let it dry.
Step 3: Line with Fabric
It’s time to use the linen fabric. If the edges are not hemmed, you can do it yourself by applying hot glue along the edge and folding it over. Let the glue set, then place the fabric inside the box to cover the bottom, gluing it securely.
Add fabric to the bottom as well, and you’re done!
Step 4: Style Your Basket
Now you have a stylish basket ready to hold all sorts of things. You can use it in your bathroom as a cute toilet paper holder or decorate it further by gluing on embellishments, attaching accessories, or painting and drawing on it as you please.
