High-heeled shoes have always been a favorite fashion accessory for women. However, wearing high heels all day without experiencing any foot pain is not easy. Here are some simple tips to help women overcome this concern.
Keep high-heeled shoes in the refrigerator
Place high-heeled shoes in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. When wearing cold shoes, you will notice how the shoe material adapts to your warm feet. You can also put a water bag inside the shoes, then put them in the refrigerator. The ice will slightly stretch your shoes.
Pair of socks and hot water
Use hot water to wet cotton socks, then put them inside the shoes before wearing. Leave them there for a while before taking them out. The shoes will stretch a bit and may make it easier for you to walk in them.
Double-sided tape
Stick the instep to the sole of the shoe with double-sided tape. This trick will keep your feet secure in the shoes, but most importantly, it prevents rubbing and pain in the toes.
Use special high-heeled insoles
These small insoles, specially designed for shoe inserts, are usually made of silicone or fabric. They prevent your feet from sliding forward, reducing pain and swelling in the toes. Add an additional silicone pad if you are wearing open-toed shoes. The “invisible” silicone parts under the feet will protect them from pain or discomfort while walking.
Apply moisturizing cream
Apply a bit of moisturizing cream to your feet before wearing high heels to reduce friction and minimize pain or swelling in the toes, especially when wearing new and tight shoes.
Baby powder
If you have baby powder at home, try sprinkling some in your shoes. It will prevent excessive sweating and slipping, minimizing friction and potential damage.
Apply tape to the toes
All you have to do is stick the third and fourth toes together to reduce pressure on the toes and alleviate potential pain.
Prevent heel slippage
Even if your heel hurts, do not take it out of the shoe. You may feel a bit more comfortable, but your heel is likely to swell immediately. Therefore, place your entire foot in the shoe to avoid further discomfort.
Wear high heels at home
Wear high heels at home for at least a week before wearing them outside, especially with new shoes. This way, your feet will become accustomed to the new shoes and they will have expanded a bit.
Eliminate odor
Before wearing your shoes, apply some odor eliminator to the area with the most friction to prevent chafing or discomfort.
