A large plastic bottle or bowl for mixing

Filtered water: 100ml

46% alcohol: 150ml

Fabric softener: 100ml (use a concentrated type for a stronger scent)

Dried cloves: a handful, approximately 15 buds

Bamboo skewers for barbecues: around 15 skewers (use 5 skewers per bottle to diffuse the solution)

Clean 500ml plastic bottle

Instructions

STEP 1: MIX THE INSECT REPELLENT SOLUTION. First, pour 100ml of filtered water into a mixing bowl or large plastic bottle.

Then, add 150ml of alcohol.

Take your concentrated fabric softener

and pour 100ml into the mixing container.

Add approximately 15 dried clove buds (the scent of cloves is known to repel mosquitoes, flies, and insects in general)

Give it a good stir to combine all the ingredients, and set it aside.

STEP 2: PREPARE THE BOTTLE FOR THE SOLUTION. Take a clean plastic bottle, preferably 300 to 500ml in size, and make a large hole in the cap (this will be used to insert the bamboo skewers for diffusion).

Next, cut the plastic bottle in half as shown in the image.

Pour the solution into the lower half of the bottle (you can adjust the amount of solution depending on the size of your bottle or container).

Now, squeeze the lower half of the bottle as shown, and insert it into the upper half, so that the upper half envelops the lower half…

…like so.

Take 3 to 5 bamboo skewers and insert them into the solution, then flip the bottle upside down so that the skewers are immersed in the liquid. This will allow the skewers to absorb the solution and diffuse the scent.

Fan out the skewers as shown in the image.

Repeat the process with additional bottles or containers to create more insect repellent solutions, allowing you to place them in multiple areas of your home.

With this easy, cost-effective, and handy DIY insect repellent solution, you can keep mosquitoes, flies, and other pests at bay. Your home will be filled with a fresh and pleasant scent. Recipe shared by Bezerra Good Tips. Good luck!
