Individuals who are not yet 14 years old can register under the electronic identity account of their parents or legal guardians. Those under the guardianship of others can register under the electronic identity account of their guardian.
During the registration process, individuals need to provide complete information including their personal identification number, full name, date of birth, gender, nationality (for foreigners), phone number, and email.

There are two ways to register for an electronic identity account:
– Register for a level 1 electronic identity account on the national electronic identity application, VNeID.
– Register for a level 2 electronic identity account by visiting any police agency. Prior appointment scheduling through the national electronic identity application is recommended.
Registering an electronic identity account is free and has the same validity period as an electronic identity.
6 How to register for an electronic identity account
After downloading the VNeID app, open it and choose “Register.” Enter your personal identification number (citizen card number with chip). After filling in the required information, press “Register” to complete the process.
The app will request access to your device’s camera to scan the QR code on your citizen card and verify the information. The system will display your registration information, including your personal identification number, phone number, full name, gender, date of birth, permanent residence, and current address.
After reviewing the information, tick the “I agree to the terms of use of the application and services” box, then press “Register” to continue.
Once the system verifies your registration information, an OTP code will be sent to you via SMS. Enter the verification code into the app to set your password.
Log in with your newly created password and select “Register for a level 1 electronic identity account (online).” Follow the prompts to complete the registration process.
