According to Bleeping Computer, security experts at Doctor Web have issued a warning about a number of malicious software appearing on the Google Play store. These applications contain various types of malware such as FakeApp, Joker, and HiddenAds.
Statistics from Bleeping Computer show that these malicious apps have attracted over 2 million installations. Below is a list of some of the malicious apps that experts have discovered:

– Advertisements
– Rainbow Stretch
– Rubber Punch 3D
– Eternal Maze
– Jungle Jewels
– Stellar Secrets
– Fire Fruits
– Cowboy’s Frontier
– Enchanted Elixir
– Love Emoji Messenger
– Beauty Wallpaper HD
Doctor Web explains that after victims install these apps on their devices, they will try to hide themselves by replacing the icon on the screen with the Google Chrome icon or using a transparent icon to “hide”.
These apps run silently in the background, leveraging the browser to display advertisements and generate revenue for their creators. Analysts have also discovered some FakeApp-type apps that direct users to fraudulent investment websites.
In other cases, Dr. Web has discovered game apps that load suspicious online casino websites that violate Google Play policies.
Currently, the 12 malicious apps have been removed from the app store by Google. In case these software have been installed, users need to quickly uninstall them from their devices.
