The duration of the New Year’s holiday in 2021 may vary from country to country. However, most countries only allocate 1 day for this holiday. For example, Vietnam, China, South Korea, etc. only have 1 day off on January 1st. Some other countries may extend this holiday, combined with the winter break.

Official: Lunar New Year Holiday 2021

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved the proposed plan for the Lunar New Year holiday by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Accordingly, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Ox 2021, officials, civil servants, employees, and workers are granted a 7-day holiday. The time is from February 10th, 2021 to February 16th, 2021 (Western calendar) (from December 29th of the Year of the Rat to January 5th of the Year of the Ox).

The Prime Minister also agreed to have a 4-day National Day holiday in 2021. From Thursday, September 2nd to Sunday, September 5th.

The units and organizations implementing the above holiday schedule are assigned by the Prime Minister to arrange and coordinate work units in a reasonable manner to continuously handle work, ensuring good service for organizations and individuals.
