There are many types of chemical fertilizers on the market, but if you use chemical fertilizers for a long time, the soil is prone to alkalinization, causing the plants to grow and develop unstably, easily withering and falling off.
So why don’t you use organic fertilizers to save money and protect the environment.
Below are 2 natural fertilizers that are very good for the development of plants. If you know how to use them, the plants will always be green, with flowers blooming from one season to another.
Sesame powder (black sesame)
Sesame seeds (black sesame) are a familiar type of seed to the Vietnamese people, so they are very easy to find. Not only used for eating, this type of seed is also very good for plants, you can completely use it as a fertilizer for plants.
The reason for this is that sesame seeds are very rich in nutrients including protein, phosphorus, potassium and some other trace elements, which are very useful for the growth of plants.
However, to save money, you can use old and damaged sesame seeds.
When using sesame seeds as fertilizer for plants, you should not use raw sesame seeds sprinkled directly into the pot, but you need to roast them, grind them into powder. Sprinkle one spoonful of this powder into the pot or add it to the watering water, use it twice a week.
Sesame powder, after decomposition, will gradually release many nutrients to help plants grow lush, leaves green, stimulate more flowering. Not only that, this powder also has the ability to improve the structure of the soil, prevent the soil from being compacted, making it difficult for plants to grow well.
Bone powder
Chicken bones, pork bones, fish bones, … after eating, most of us throw them straight into the trash without knowing that they are a “treasure” for growing plants. These bones are a rich source of phosphorus, not only helping plants grow healthily but also particularly good during the flowering stage of plants.
Depending on the type of bone, the NPK ratio (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) can range from 1-12-0 to 4-21-2.
To have bone powder, first you need to gather the bones, wash them and boil them for 5-8 hours to remove all the meat and salt in the bones. Dry them in the sun until dry and crisp, then grind or grind them into fine powder, put them in a bag to use gradually.
You can sprinkle bone powder on the soil, around the roots of plants with a quantity of about 1kg for 50m2. Or, mix bone powder with water in a ratio of 1 spoonful of bone powder with 3.8 liters of water, use both the residue and the water to water the plants.
This type of fertilizer is suitable for flowering and fruiting plants.
However, it is recommended to use it with soils with a pH lower than 7, because acidic soil helps release nutrients in the bones, while alkaline soil will lock in nutrients.
