Everyone has bought new shoes to wear at some point, and there are probably cases where when trying them on at the store, the shoes still fit, but after a day or two at home, they feel a bit tight and uncomfortable. In this situation, if you try to exchange for a bigger size, the shoe store owner will not agree, as they consider the shoes to have been used. In fact, there are some tricks that can easily solve this problem.
First of all, let’s learn about the material of the shoes. Typically, shoes can be made of leather or fabric, and we all know that if we wear shoes for a long time, they will stretch out and become wider. This is because the size of the shoes, the material will also stretch slightly, just by stretching the inner surface of the shoe, the size of the shoe will naturally increase.
First method: Place a foam insert inside the new shoe
The function of this foam insert is to support the shoe, prevent it from being squished and deformed, moreover, this foam insert fits the structure inside the shoe better. Placing the foam insert inside can also make it easier to stretch the shoe lace.
Bring along a few thick socks and place them inside the foam insert. If one sock is not enough, you can add another sock, it will be a bit tight but with the thickness of the socks, the stretching effect on the shoes is quite high. After two or three days using this method, when you wear the shoes again, you will find that the shoes have become wider and more comfortable to wear.
Second method: Prepare a thick plastic bag and place it inside the shoe
When inserting the bag, put your hand inside the shoe to make sure the bag fits tightly inside the shoe. Beforehand, we need to check to make sure the plastic bag does not leak water outside.
Next, pour a suitable amount of clean water into the plastic bag. The amount of clean water should be a little more, but it should not overflow. After completing this step, we can use two small methods to adjust the shoe to make it larger easily.
In the first method, we tightly seal the mouth of the plastic bag to prevent water from flowing out, then put the shoes filled with water in the freezer refrigerator so that the water inside freezes. This process may take five hours. After six hours, when the water freezes, it will naturally stretch the shoes. This is because during the freezing process, the liquid becomes fixed and the volume becomes larger, thus serving the purpose of stretching the shoes.
Finally, wait for the ice to melt and then remove the water bag. At this point, when wearing the shoes, you will find that the shoes have become much looser and more comfortable to wear.
In the second method, we can put a suitable amount of peanuts in the water bag, tie the knot and close the mouth of the bag tightly. Or you can also put some types of beans like green beans, soybeans, etc., soak them to make them swell. We can use this feature to stretch the shoes, and the process is also very easy to use.
If your newly purchased shoes also encounter these issues, you can use the above methods to deal with them. With a few simple steps, you can increase the size on the inside of the shoes, so that when we wear them, they won’t be tight and won’t cause foot swelling.
