These two simple tips can help you effectively remove mold and restore the appearance of your plastic items, making them safe to use and reducing the risk of harmful bacteria affecting your health.

1. Using Baking Soda

What you’ll need:

1 large basin
1 large bowl
Baking soda
Liquid dish soap
White vinegar
Scrubbing sponge or cloth

Instructions:

Step 1: Place the plastic item(s) that need cleaning into the large basin.

Step 2: In the large bowl, mix baking soda and liquid dish soap to form a paste. Apply this paste generously to the moldy or stained areas of the plastic item(s).

Step 3: Allow the paste to sit for a few minutes, then pour vinegar onto the affected areas to initiate a gentle foaming action that helps lift away dirt and grime.

2. Using Vinegar and Liquid Dish Soap

White vinegar
Liquid dish soap
1 small bowl
Paper towels or clean cloths

Step 1: In the small bowl, mix water, a small amount of liquid dish soap, and vinegar. Stir well to combine.

Step 2: Dip paper towels or clean cloths into the mixture, ensuring they are thoroughly soaked. Place these soaked towels or cloths inside the plastic item(s), focusing on the moldy or stained areas. Cover the item(s) with a plastic bag to keep the towels or cloths in place.

Step 3: After about 5 minutes, remove the towels or cloths and rinse the plastic item(s) with strong water flow to wash away the loosened dirt and grime. You can use a scrubbing sponge to make the item(s) shine even more.
