Ingredients:
– 1 freshly boiled egg, still warm
– 1 chopstick
– 2 small hair ties
– 1 piece of cardboard about 12cm x 8cm (you can cut the long sides of a milk carton, wash it clean, and use it instead of the cardboard)
Step 1:
Fold the piece of cardboard in half lengthwise (if using a milk carton, it already has the sides, so you can skip this step), place the peeled egg in the middle, and place the chopstick on top of the egg.
Step 2:
Use the hair ties to secure both ends of the chopstick to the ends of the cardboard.
The chopstick will press the egg down, creating a hollow. Because of the pressure applied by the chopstick, the egg needs to be warm because if you press a cold egg like this, it’s very likely to crack. |
Step 3:
After about 10 – 15 minutes, remove the chopstick from the cardboard.
You can now see the heart-shaped egg from one end of the egg! |
Step 4:
Cut the egg in half horizontally, and now you have two beautiful heart-shaped egg halves!
You can use these cute heart-shaped eggs to decorate a bento lunch box or to encourage kids to eat more eggs:
And it would also be romantic to share a half of the egg with your partner, as each egg only has two halves that fit perfectly together and cannot fit with a half of any other egg.
Wishing you success!
