Leftover Rice Ideas
Don’t throw away your leftover rice! Simply let it cool down and store it in an airtight zip lock bag. You can even freeze it for up to 3 months. When you’re ready to use it, simply pop it in the microwave with a little water to create delicious and fluffy rice.
Fried Rice with Meat and Eggs
For a tasty fried rice dish, you’ll need the following ingredients: 1kg of leftover rice, 3 eggs, 30g of bacon, 1 onion, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of pepper, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and some oil for frying.
Fried Rice with Meat and Eggs
Beat the eggs and chop the bacon and onion. Heat some oil in a pan and fry the eggs, bacon, and onion separately. Add the rice to the pan and season with salt, pepper, and soy sauce. Mix well and garnish with chopped scallions.
Rice Balls
For a fun and unique dish, try making rice balls! You’ll need 600g of leftover rice, 200g of cooked and chopped bacon, 100g of Mozzarella cheese, 2 eggs, 600g of flour, and 400g of panko breadcrumbs.
Mix the rice, bacon, cheese, 200g of flour, and eggs in a bowl. Shape the mixture into balls and roll them in the remaining flour and then the breadcrumbs. Fry the balls in hot oil until golden brown.
Chicken and Vegetable Rice Bowl
For a healthy and flavorful rice bowl, you’ll need 3 pieces of chicken breast, 1 teaspoon of salt, 5 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 600g of leftover rice, 200g of bell peppers, 200g of halved cherry tomatoes, 100g of cooked black beans, 100g of cooked corn, a few shallots, chopped herbs, and some salt and pepper to taste.
Marinate the chicken in a plastic bag with salt, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, chili powder, and garlic powder for an hour. Fry the chicken until golden, then chop it up and add it to a bowl with the rice, vegetables, herbs, and remaining olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and enjoy!
