It is no secret that honey and baking soda have many common uses. However, not many people know what benefits the combination of these two ingredients brings.
You can mix honey and baking soda in a bowl, fill it with water, and stir well. Then, place it in areas where ants frequently appear in your home. After a while, you will notice ants coming out of the kitchen to drink the honey water mixed with baking soda. When they consume this mixture, the ants will quickly die.
Detergent and Sugar
Take a bowl and add detergent to it, then add a little water and stir until completely dissolved. Place this mixture in a dark and damp corner or in areas where ants frequently appear in the house.
White sugar has a distinctive taste that can attract ants, and detergent can clog their breathing holes. If ants consume this mixture, they will suffocate and die.
Mouthwash
In addition to its oral hygiene benefits, mouthwash can also be used to effectively kill ants. The reason is that mouthwash contains alcohol, which can quickly kill ants.
You can directly pour mouthwash onto areas with ants or mix mouthwash with detergent. Using this mixture to spray onto ant nests will help completely eliminate the ant colony, and you will no longer see any traces of them in your home.
Duct Tape and Purple Onions
Ants are often attracted to the smell of purple onions, so you can use purple onions to trap them. Simply place a few slices of purple onions on a piece of duct tape and place this trap in areas where ants frequently pass through. Ants that come into direct contact with the duct tape will be trapped and unable to escape. If you choose to use this method, it is recommended to use large and adhesive duct tape to effectively trap ants.
Using Detergent and Fabric Softener
Sprinkle detergent onto areas where ants gather or mix detergent with fabric softener, then pour it into a spray bottle and spray it in corners, on beds, and other targeted areas. By repeating this process several times, ants will die and disappear completely because they consume and inhale the detergent.
Coffee Grounds
Ants are easily attracted to the smell of coffee, but caffeine in coffee can kill ants. Therefore, you can use coffee to get rid of ants. Mix coffee grounds with water and then divide this mixture into small sealed jars. Ants will be attracted by the scent and crawl into the jars. Then, you can seal the jars and wait for them to die inside.
