Postal codes, or zip codes, are a series of characters established by the Universal Postal Union and each country will also have its own system of symbols. Using postal codes helps to identify where your mail needs to go and also provides additional information when you shop internationally as it requires a postal code.
Currently, the structure of the Zipcode will include 05 digits (new in 2018) where:
- The first digit is used to identify the region.
- The first and second digits are used to identify the province or centrally-run city.
- The first four digits are used to identify the district and equivalent administrative unit.
- All five digits are used to identify the assigned object.
