Vu Thuy Hang’s family is currently living in a small apartment with one shared bathroom (including a shower and toilet). When deciding to live here, Ms. Hang was worried that having only one bathroom would be inconvenient and there would be no place to store items.
“However, everything is fine in its own way,” the nail technician in Sweden shared.
Some ways that Ms. Hang has applied to keep her small bathroom clean and organized:
1. Do not place personal hygiene items outside the sink area
The purpose is to keep everything dry and airy. The bathroom is about 6 square meters. It has a small window, and Ms. Hang placed a plant pot there to create a fresh and airy feeling.
2. Create a cabinet right behind the mirror
Behind the mirror above the sink, Ms. Hang made a cabinet to store personal hygiene items in order to save space. Since she doesn’t need a dressing table, she also puts her cosmetics in the cabinet, which is very convenient.
3. Put all items in the cabinet
The cabinet under the sink has two compartments for storing items. Everything has its place. After using, put it in the right place so that the items don’t get lost or dirty during washing.
4. Use durable paper to clean the mirror
Use kitchen paper that doesn’t leave lint and dust to quickly clean and make the mirror shiny.
5. Use a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water to clean the glass
This is a great assistant in addition to using durable paper to clean the glass. Mix these ingredients in a ratio of 1:1, shake well, spray the mixture onto the mirror, then wipe it gently for a clean and shiny result.
6. Use toothpaste as a cleaning material
This product is suitable for the sink and stainless steel faucet in the bathroom.
7. The excellent uses of lemon and baking soda
Ms. Hang takes advantage of dried lemons, squeezes out the juice, mixes it with baking soda in a 1:1 ratio, pours it down the bathroom drain and shower drain for about 20 minutes, then brushes it to eliminate odors. This formula can also be used to clean the toilet bowl.
Using natural ingredients also helps minimize the use of chemical cleaners to protect the environment.
8. Keep the bathroom always dry
Ms. Hang uses glass to separate the shower area from the toilet area to prevent water from overflowing when showering. The foot rug must be cleaned and washed regularly to avoid being damp or smelly. All the clothes taken off will be kept dry and put together in a white laundry basket. Ms. Hang washes clothes twice a week. She will sort the clothes according to color when washing.
9. Maintain daily cleaning habits
After showering, Ms. Hang uses a showerhead to spray water on the bathroom mirror to clean soap scum residue. Then, she uses a rubber wiper to remove all the water to keep the bathroom dry and clean. This helps minimize bacterial growth.
10. Tips to prevent unpleasant odors in the bathroom
Place a small trash can inside the bathroom and remember to empty it every day. Use natural essential oils to eliminate odors. Ms. Hang often hangs a bit of crushed lemongrass or orange peels in the bathroom to create a pleasant smell.
