During the summer, air conditioning is an essential device for many families. However, the problem is how to install the air conditioner to keep the room cool without consuming too much electricity. In some cases, a mistake in the installation can cause the air conditioning system to malfunction or increase the electricity bill.
Among them, the air conditioning condenser is often overlooked but is the most important part of the air conditioner. Whether an air conditioner operates stably or not depends a lot on the condenser.
Incorrect installation of the air conditioning condenser can lead to rust, improper operation, water leakage, gas leakage, reduced lifespan of the air conditioner, causing financial losses and wasting time for users. When installing the air conditioning condenser, it is important to pay attention to the location, pipe design, pipe selection, brackets, insulation, etc.
Many people make the serious mistake of installing the condenser directly in the room.
Is it okay to have the outdoor air conditioning condenser?
Usually, in order to save space and for technical requirements, most households accept installing the outdoor condenser unit for air conditioning systems, which exposes the condenser to rain and sun all year round. This is the main reason that reduces the lifespan of the condenser, makes it prone to damage, and requires users to spend money on repairs or even buying a new one.
Placing the condenser outdoors is similar to “abuse” for the outdoor unit of an air conditioner. Nowadays, more and more technology companies produce air conditioning condensers that can withstand harsh weather conditions, but this only protects them partially, and it is still best not to install the condenser outdoors without a shelter from rain and sun.
Guidelines for installing the air conditioning condenser
As mentioned above, the ideal position to install the air conditioning condenser is in a cool and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, and preferably with a roof. In addition, users should avoid installing a fan in a place where there is direct wind blowing as it will create a significant resistance for the fan and waste electricity.
At the same time, it is necessary to avoid placing the condenser in a position where it will face wind resistance from other electronic devices, especially other air conditioning units. It should not be installed in a location where there is strong wind or a lot of dust and fallen leaves.
The best placement for the condenser is lower than the indoor unit, and if it is higher, then it is advisable to ask the technician to design an oil trap for it, with a maximum height difference of no more than 8 meters. The ideal distance between the pipes of the condenser and the indoor unit is between 3 and 7 meters.
The minimum distance between the condenser and the wall is 5 cm, the minimum distance on both sides of the unit is 25 cm each, while the distance from the opposite wall to the condenser must be at least 60 cm. The condenser should not be placed directly on the ground.
Because the condenser has a compressor and the fan has high power, it can generate noise and vibrations. Therefore, it is not recommended to choose a location in the middle of the wall. Instead, choose positions in the corner or along the wall, and the bracket must be securely fixed to the wall.
